I'm not dead yet!

I realized today that I totally fucked off my livejournal since I live off Google Reader to keep me informed of my friends and news.

Anyone know how to get my LJ Friends list updates as an rss feed?

In other news, I've been seeing this girl (Angela) since late October, we're doing good. Met her rollerskating. We both volunteer with the Jet City Roller Girls. If you haven't been to roller derby at all you should really come out to an event. The next one is Rust Riot on Feb 2nd ALL the NW leagues, Jet City, Rat City, Oly Rollers, Bellingham Roller Bettys, and Oregon and Eastern WA teams etc.

In other news I'm enamored with the iPod Touch, however it's only really useful once it's been jailbroken, once you knock off the restraints you can get awesome gadgets for it. It's the device I've been waiting years for. Once they break the iPhone 1.1.3 firmware and or a good SDK comes out for it, I'm buying one.

Anyway, things are currently up in the air for living situation, the lease is up at the end of Feb. Not sure if we're going to stay here or not, we lost a roomie and we might lose the other one and there is no way Jason and I can split around $1700 a month for rent and all that other necessary shit.

burning down the house!

almost.

I came home to the smell of burning. I check every room and it's coming from mine.

I check the computer, nope, laptop, nope, wall worts... nope. Then as I bend down to look under my desk I get the strong odor up my nose, I look over and feel my UPS, it's burning hot.

Immediatley I shutdown the computer and pull the plug on the UPS and leave it sit for a couple hours. I then carefully open it up to find batteries that were on the verge of combustion, they were bulging out about 1/4" in several areas and got so hot that the two are now melted together into one.

I will not buy another Belkin UPS. I've had this one for a few years, have two of them actually. I'm thinking about taking the other out of commission for the slight chance of this happening, I knew it was coming upon battery replacement time but I've never had even dead batteries do that to me.

in stores

I went out with Tony tonight and got our CDs to Sonic Boom in Fremont, and with Silver Platters in Northgate who will send them out to all their stores. So if you want to buy em while out and about, feel free.

We'll be on iTunes world wide in 6-8 weeks as well as Rhapsody and Napster. I'm contemplating a release party but remains to be seen.

It's nice finally having some time off work, I finally got my bedroom under control and filed for my work benefits that will begin in Feb.

But in super cool news, today's Hack-A-Day link is to GetLoFi's APC page which of course partly features my Atari Punk Console project, and is the closest I will probably ever come to being linked directly at hack-a-day.

I would like to see as many smiling faces as I know at the January 13th show at El Corazon (21+), tickets are only $10 ($12.50 after TicketsWest fees) They are well worth the price of admission I assure you. Fat Tony and I will be in attendance and anyone wanting to ride from up north can pile into his VW bus with a guaranteed stop at Dick's on the way back home.

I saw them at Bumbershoot with Feesh and they are awesome. Their singer is super nice, she liked my band logo :)

and if you wanna hear some of their songs you can download them on my website for free
http://www.natemc.com/news/?p=286

she's back!

I just got home with my car. It's strange sitting in it again, everything is lower in my malibu. So far it's 99% good, stereo system still works, trunk lighting system still works, my exhaust is however louder than it used to be, it sounds like my dad's Astro, at least on the inside. The one fault I've found is my glove box light doesn't work anymore, but it's a custom install that I did myself so it might have gotten knocked out of place or someone unhooked it and didn't know how to hook it back up, I didn't color code anything because it's MINE, however any jackass with 2 AA batteries and a test light could hook it back up correctly.

But it's nice to have my car back.

where my project runway people at?

A look at the 4 finalist collections ie.. spoilers

http://www.bestweekever.tv/2006/09/15/project-runway-runway-collections/

All around disappointing for me, Michael dropped the ball hardcore it was slutty early 90's allover that runway and Jeffrey just trashed it up a bit too much. Laura was.. Laura... boring black and beige. Uli was meh, Feesh will dig the animal prints but I can't stand em.

better pics here:
http://nymag.com/fashion/fashionshows/2007/spring/main/newyork/womenrunway/jeffreysebelia/
http://nymag.com/fashion/fashionshows/2007/spring/main/newyork/womenrunway/laurabennett/
http://nymag.com/fashion/fashionshows/2007/spring/main/newyork/womenrunway/michaelknight/
http://nymag.com/fashion/fashionshows/2007/spring/main/newyork/womenrunway/ulrikeherzner/

Then to the rumors of Jeffrey cheating by "outsourcing" sewing... what the hell do they mean by outsourcing? As in he didn't do any of the sewing and sent it off to a place that was not his workspace to have the work completed without his help, or are we talking about him bringing in a few assistants?

However the time span in question is 3 weeks, which in my opinion is more than enough time to even complete 12 outfits as long as the concept and materials where there, if he was just putting them together I think it was more than enough time.

Rumor in question: http://www.eonline.com/News/Items/0,1,20154,00.html

I applied at Kinko's again, this time they have a entirely different application process now that FedEx has swallowed them whole. I have both managers names and number so I'll be over them like white on rice because I really don't want to work at Wal-Mart.

The show last night was alright, about 15 people came which is decent for a Tuesday night in a part of seattle that has little street parking otherwise it costs ya $10 to park.

We plan on playing more North of Seattle now where better parking is. I also really want to play a show for the Vera Project because I love what they are doing and I did something similar back when I was 16 and had shit for shows to see.

So what the fuck?

Ok, we are playing September 19th at FUEL in Pioneer Square, NOT The Fenix, the confusion was because it is across the street from where The Fenix USED to be. Thanks to Captain Tony for the confusion. Flyers are out... somewhere. It's $3 cover for guys, girls get in free, 21+, show starts at 9pm, I have no idea what order we go on, but there is one other act besides us that I know of.

So Seattle people better come out, and it's cheap. Who doesn't have a penis and $3? No penis, no cover!

As for the north end, we might be playing at Tasters Wok's lounge, I met with Mary the other day and told her about the idea for pictures and then she showed me the stage and everything and I was like... shit if you let us take our pictures here we should play a show here too. So the owner is supposed to be calling me soon to OK everything or not.

I also updated the design of http://www.thesilverback.net to match the new album, and I'm getting the presale stuff ready to go. The cheapest option is the CD, (2) 1" buttons and shipping for $12.99, reasonable right?

Nearly forgot to mention this... when I walked into Tasters the other day, what was sitting on a chair in the waiting area but a green stuffed rabbit. There couldn't have been a bigger sign in my entire life.

Don't you know that even Stevie Wonder sees things?

I had this mind blowing revelation that Stevie Wonder is a god, or at least Talking Book is god like, I really only have the 2 disc definitive collection but it's mostly alllll good.

But beyond that I've had this fucked up gut feeling ever since Bumbershoot ended, I don't know if I'm sick or it's anxiety from what is to come. Tony told me that now would be a real bad time to freak out.

We play our first show on September 19th at I'm told the Fenix Underground, but this is all second hand information I will have first hand account tonight. It sounds like we're playing a ~20 min set or something, I don't know.

More info to come. Also the 12th is my birthday and I have no idea what to do or even if I should celebrate, I'm just that crazy right now. Work keeps me calm and focused, we are almost all moved out of Edmonds to our new storage place behind Miller Rent All and it's all coming together nicely, at least work is no panic at all, I have Thursday and Sunday off.

Flickr'd

I got the USB cable in the mail today for my cell phone now I can upload all the crap I've taken pictures of with it while out and about. I'm way too stingy to pay the 10 cents per K (up AND down) to upload them directly so this $8 cable works perfectly.

So here is a link to my tagged cell phone pics

http://www.flickr.com/photos/67328536@N00/sets/72157594260860580/

Bitchin Buttons

If everything goes right tomorrow, I'll have all the gear I need to make my own 1" buttons, no more buying them from slacktastic motherfuckers that can't count to 100 (last order I placed took 3 weeks and I was shorted 25 buttons, which took another week to get).

I've even got an order already for the Tattoo Shop, it's nothing that will make me a millionaire but it's something that I've always wanted to do. I'm a crazy logo making fool so it should be awesome.

I was able to get it with my saved up tip money. So if you know any bands, stores, anything you know of that is gonna need 1" Buttons, let me know!

Basic buttons with black printing is $25 for 100, $30 for color + shipping. No shipping charge if they can pick em up in Lynnwood or if I'm out and about in their next of the woods on work and I can drop em off.

I'll have a template soon, if I have to setup the art there is a one time art setup fee, but I'll work that out later.

Anyone need to buy something from Vans?

I tried for 2 hours today to get shoes, it's impossible.

I have $48.60 in store credit at the vans store, I was told I could use it to purchase shoes online at their store. After waiting a month for them to finally get a pair in that would fit I tried ordering them... no good. If your merch cards doesn't have MORE than you need to buy the shoes ($70+) it won't process it. So I would have to pay for them without using my merch credit because their system is flawed.

The Lynnwood store manager tried everything he could for me (besides refunding the cash), his solution was to find out exactly how much they were going to cost and then have me put that much credit on the merch card, great idea, except that now their shopping cart system is fucked and won't process any orders. The stores can't special order unless they are the custom classic shoes (which don't fit me) so I'm stuck with $48.60 in store credit that I can't use and I NEED new fucking shoes, my heels are killing me.

So... anyone needing to buy shoes from Vans store in Alderwood Mall or Burlington that I could sell my credit to.

Edit: Tony said he would buy it, he got paint all over his vans while painting his house a couple weekends ago.
